Tips for Booking the Best Hotels in Bali
When to Book Luxury Accommodation in Bali
Bali’s peak tourist season is between May and September when the weather is drier and mild. December-January is also very popular as many Aussies visit Bali during their summer vacation. I recommend booking your accommodation at least 3-4 months in advance during this time.
How to Find Amazing Places to Stay in Bali
In this guide, we’ve listed some of the most beautiful places to stay in Bali, based on our extensive research and experience, plus a few suggestions from our travel blogging friends who have stayed in these Bali 5 star hotels!
These suggestions cover hotels and resorts in all the major tourist areas that are close to some of the best things to do in Bali. We’ve also included information about the style of accommodation, a general price guide and expert tips from people who have actually stayed there. Basically, we’ve done all the research for you!
How to Get the Best Price on Bali 5 Star Hotels
In order to get the best price on hotels in Bali (or anywhere in the world really), I recommend booking through Booking.com or Hotels.com. The reason I use these two booking providers is that they offer the best rates and a Price Match Guarantee. By signing up as a member, you’ll get access to special discounts, member-only deals, and sale alerts. Hotels.com also offers free nights after you’ve completed 10 stays!
I also find many of the hotels listed on Booking.com and Hotels.com offer free cancellation, in case something goes wrong. And sometimes they offer a pay at the hotel option if you prefer to pay in local currency.
Before I book my hotels, I usually compare prices on HotelsCombined.com to ensure I’m getting the best deal, but I generally don’t book through them. I recommend booking either through Booking.com or Hotels.com for the reasons stated above. Their Price Match Guarantee ensures you always get the best price anyway, as well as taking advantage of member benefits.

Located in the creative craft capital of Gianyar regency over the valleys of the Pakerisan River (a UNESCO Heritage Site), this luxury resort is like a mini Waterworld, where each luxury villa has their own private pool area that also connects to wider canals and waterways linked throughout the resort.
For many, the main feature of HOSHINOYA is the Air Gazebos which are perched high in the canopy of the Balinese jungle and surrounded by the siren of birds, lizards, and jungle beasts. An experience that cannot be explained through images. Hotel guests can use these gazebos at any time of the day, for breakfast, for midday naps, or cocktails with sunset. It is about as close to nature as you can get.

Amankila is hands down one of the most beautiful hotels in Bali. Located in the Karangasem region of Eastern Bali, it’s situated in a lesser developed area of the island, which makes it super tranquil and perfect for a relaxing escape away from the crowds of Canggu and Seminyak.
While the room design was exquisite, with Balinese influences throughout each modern space, it has triple tiered pools inspired by the island’s iconic rice terraces that will make your jaw drop. Not to mention, said pool looks out over the ocean to the East, so if you’re a sunrise kind of traveler, plan to set your alarm clock early to witness the most epic Balinese sunrises.
Amankila is truly one of those places you’ll want to camp up in and never leave, with the loveliest staff that makes you feel at home.
Just make sure when packing for Bali, that you bring a few nicer dresses for dining in the resort’s indoor/outdoor restaurant where you’re guaranteed to want to make reservations for a few multi-course meals. You’ll go to bed happy and stuffed each night, ready to rinse and repeat for the next day ahead of sun and pure relaxation.
