Bucket List Seekers is a couple travel and bucket list blog, focused on seeking out epic bucket list experiences, exploring amazing destinations around the globe, and discovering the most romantic places for couples to go! We want to inspire and educate you to plan not just any overseas trip, but one that’s filled with amazing once in a lifetime experiences that you’ll never forget. 

On our blog, you’ll find stories from our own travel experiences, couples getaway guides, and detailed travel itineraries to help you plan your own bucket list trip and experience a destination independently without unnecessary hidden costs.

We also have loads of travel bucket list ideas for every continent in the world, and a travellers resource library packed with tons for downloadable travel checklists, maps, guides and eBooks, plus loads of other travel destination inspiration.

The Bucket List Seekers (formerly Fly Stay Luxe) was created by Amanda & Graeme – a travel couple from Australia who are passionate about exploring all corners of the globe (even the unique and lesser-known parts). We love learning about other cultures, taking road trips, tasting foreign foods and going on an occasional hiking adventure. 

The travel blog space seems to be full of ‘we quit our jobs to travel the world’ stories – but ours is a little different.

Amanda tried the full-time travel thing once (back in her early 20s). But after spending all her savings on an epic Canada and Europe trip, she headed back home to Australia and got a full-time job in the airline industry. The job allowed her to combine travel and work, and benefit from airline employee perks such as discounted flights and accommodation. 

Shortly after Amanda met Graeme, he started his own bricks and mortar business based in Brisbane, Australia. Having a business meant we had to keep our feet firmly planted.

But travel was always yearning, so in 2018, Amanda decided to channel her passion for travel into creating this blog. 

Since then, we’ve had some amazing adventures travelling together. We’ve road tripped around Iceland in winter, flown in a helicopter over the Great Barrier Reef, explored off-the-beaten path places in Japan, went glamping in the Jordanian desert, and watched the sunset from an overwater bungalow in the Maldives.

We love our home in Australia and have decided that full-time travel is not on the cards for us right now. Instead, we spend the majority of our time running our own businesses here and travelling as much as our lifestyle allows – during weekends, public holidays or annual leave. 

We happen to think that working full-time is not so bad, because it means we can afford to spend a little more money on luxury vacations and epic trips to bucket list destinations. We intentionally chose this kind of lifestyle over full-time traveling on a budget, and it suits us perfectly! 

We’re here to show our readers that you don’t always need to ‘quit your job’ to live a life enriched with adventure bucket list experiences!

Amanda

Amanda developed a passion for travelling at a young age after taking her first overseas trip at the age of 8. It was this trip that changed her life! After being invited to join the pilots in the Flight Deck for landing, Amanda decided there and then that she wanted to become a pilot and travel the world for a living!

However, after graduating, Amanda decided that being a pilot wasn’t the career for her. She spent the next 13 years working for a major Australian airline as a safety investigator.

In 2018, Amanda took the leap-of-faith, ditching her airline career to become a full-time travel blogger.

Amanda produces majority of the written content on Bucket List Seekers as well as photography and videography. She also contributes regular articles for other travel editorials, including We Are Travel Girls and Expedia.

Graeme

Dad Joke Expert. Chef Extraordinaire. Fruit Nerd. Will do anything for ice-cream!

By day, Graeme works in the fresh produce industry and is not afraid of being in front of the camera. In fact, he’s amassed a loyal social media following of his own by creating hilarious video content about, you guessed it, fruit and vegetables.

When Graeme travels, he likes to immerse himself in a destination’s food culture by visiting farms and food markets, tasting the local cuisine and dining at some of the best restaurants in the world. His greatest inspiration was the late, great, Anthony Bourdain.

Graeme travels with his wife, Amanda, as the man behind the camera, creating the majority of the photo and video content here on Bucket List Seekers.
