When we planned our visit to Jordan, I really wanted to do it in style. So, I did a ton of research on the best hotels in Jordan, including luxury 5 star hotels, boutique hotels, and the best bubble tents for glamping in Wadi Rum. I checked out all of Jordan’s luxury hotels in each location that we planned to visit. I then created this shortlist of the best places to stay in Jordan!
If you’re planning a visit to Jordan, there’s a good chance your itinerary will have you moving around the country a lot in order to see all the best sites. Jordan is a very photogenic country, but the best things to see in Jordan (Petra, Amman, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, etc.) are not located very close together.
I highly recommend planning to spend at least 7-10 days in Jordan. You could do a self-guided road trip or join a group tour. Though there is really no need to join a tour, so long as you’re confident to drive and navigate yourself. It is actually a lot easier to do a road trip in Jordan than most people think. It’s also a very cost-effective way of seeing the country, so you can afford to splash out on staying at these luxury 5 star hotels in Jordan instead!
We’ve done a ton of research to help you find the best luxury hotels and places to stay in Jordan!

How to Book the Best Hotels in Jordan
In this guide, we’ve listed what we believe to be the best places to stay in Jordan, based on our experience after having visited the country. We’ve included hotels in all the major cities and tourist hotspots that you would be likely to visit on your own trip. Basically, we’ve done most of the research for you!
Note: Because Bucket List Seekers is a luxury travel blog, the accommodation options we’ve recommended in this guide are mostly 5-star hotels in Jordan, including some boutique hotel options, and luxury glamping experiences.
Get the Best Price on Jordan Luxury Hotels
In order to get the best price on hotels in Jordan (or anywhere in the world really), I recommend booking through Booking.com or Hotels.com. The reason I use these two booking providers is that they offer the best rates and a Price Match Guarantee. By signing up as a member, you’ll get access to special discounts, member-only deals, and sale alerts. Hotels.com also offers free nights after you’ve completed 10 stays!
I also find many of the hotels listed on Booking.com and Hotels.com offer free cancellation, in case something goes wrong. And sometimes they offer a pay at the hotel option if you prefer to pay in local currency.
Before I book my hotels, I usually compare prices on HotelsCombined.com to ensure I’m getting the best deal, but I generally don’t book through them. I recommend booking either through Booking.com or Hotels.com for the reasons stated above. Their Price Match Guarantee ensures you always get the best price anyway, as well as taking advantage of member benefits.

When to Book Hotels in Jordan
Jordan’s peak tourist season is between September and February when the weather is fairly mild. I recommend booking your accommodation at least 4 months in advance during this time. If you plan to travel outside of peak season you could probably leave it a little later, but be aware that the major tourist hotspots, such as Petra and the Dead Sea, generally book out year-round.
Hotels in Petra and the Dead Sea also tend to book out much earlier than other areas. To give you an idea, I decided to change my Petra hotel reservation about two months prior to arriving and ended up having to keep it because there was no availability at the other hotels I was interested in. I also checked hotel availability in Amman around the same time and there was still plenty of rooms available at most places.

Best Places to Stay in Amman: Jordan’s Underrated Capital
Where to Stay in Amman
Shimeisani is the most popular area, and probably the best place to stay in Amman. It is the main commercial area of the city, so it’s slightly more modern and upmarket than other parts. Shimeisani is where most of the top luxury hotels are located. Shimeisani is also very close to the main attractions and offers some of the best entertainment, restaurants, and nightlife.
Another good area to stay in Amman is the Old Town. The Old Town offers easy accessibility to the souks and shopping malls, plenty of good local cafes and restaurants, as well as the main tourist attractions, such as Amman Citadel, and the Roman Theatre.

- Four Seasons Amman
- W Hotel Amman
- The St. Regis Amman
- Fairmont Amman (Our Pick!)
- Intercontinental Amman

Best Places to Stay in Petra: Jordan’s Lost City
Where to Stay in Petra
The town where Petra is located is called Wadi Musa. The town itself is spread out along a mountainside, with the entrance to Petra located towards the bottom of the valley. Many of the top luxury hotels are located at the bottom of the valley, closest to the entrance to Petra, or up in the mountains boasting beautiful valley views. While the budget options tend to be a little further away from the entrance to Petra.
The 5 star Mövenpick Hotel (which is where we stayed) is located just across the street from the Petra Visitor’s Centre and has a roof terrace with amazing views.
Best Hotels in Petra
Most of these hotels are located within walking distance to the Petra Visitor’s Centre, which is the entrance to the lost city:
- Mövenpick Hotel Petra (Our Pick!)
- Petra Bubble Luxotel (Our Pick!)
- Petra Moon Hotel
- Petra Guest House Hotel
- Petra Boutique Hotel

Best Dead Sea Hotels: Where to Stay, Spa and Float
Where to Stay at the Dead Sea
There aren’t many places to stay at the Dead Sea. But the few options that are available are pretty good. Most of the hotels on the Dead Sea are upmarket spa resorts, offering signature Dead Sea spa treatments and poolside cocktails with amazing Dead Sea sunset views. In fact, some of the best 5 star hotels in Jordan are located on the Dead Sea.
The Dead Sea spa resorts are within a short distance to some great tourist attractions, including, The Siq Trail at Wadi Al Mujib, Ma’in Hot Springs, Mount Nebo, and the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ. So, it is well worth spending a few days there.
The Dead Sea is also only 40 minutes drive from Amman city and Amman International Airport.
Expert Tip: Due to the Dead Sea being located right on the border with Israel, security it fairly tight. We wanted to walk along the shore of the Dead Sea to find some good photos spots, but our hotel wouldn’t allow us to go outside the designated tourist area. There are a few designated swimming spots along the main road that hugs the Dead Sea – you will need a car to access these areas.
Best Hotels at the Dead Sea
- Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa
- Mövenpick Dead Sea Spa Resort
- Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea (Our Pick!)
- Ma’in Hot Springs Hotel Spa
- Dead Sea Spa Hotel
- Dead Sea Marriott Resort & Spa

Best Glamping in Wadi Rum: Luxury Camping in Bubble Tents
Where to Stay in Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is the perfect place to visit if you’re planning to photograph the dramatic Jordan landscape, or if you are visiting Jordan with the little ones in tow. You’ll be happy to know that there are so many things to do in Wadi Rum with kids.
Luxury bubble-style tents in Wadi Rum are quickly becoming one of the best places to stay in Jordan, even more popular than the traditional Bedouin Camps. Some bubble tents even have transparent domes, allowing you to spend the evening stargazing from the comfort of your own bed. Due to their popularity, new “Martian” tents are popping up everywhere in Wadi Rum.
Staying in a luxury tented camp in Wadi Rum was one of my favourite experiences in Jordan and absolutely worth splashing out for! We actually wished we had stayed two nights so we could explore Wadi Rum a little more.

Here’s our pick of the best luxury glamping camps in Wadi Rum:

Best Hotels in Aqaba: The Gateway to the Red Sea
Where to Stay in Aqaba
Aqaba is the premier seaside resort location for Jordanians. Located on the Red Sea gulf at the southern tip of Jordan, it’s known for having some of the world’s best diving and snorkeling. Many visitors to Jordan tend to skip Aqaba, in favour of more famous tourist destinations like Petra and the Dead Sea.
Aqaba has some of the best luxury 5-star hotels in Jordan. It’s a great place to relax after exploring the rest of the country. Aqaba itself is only a small city, but it’s well worth a visit, especially if you’re into diving and watersports!
Best Hotels in Aqaba

- DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Aqaba
