#1 | Santorini, Greece

Kicking things off with one of the most popular romantic holidays for couples – Santorini. Where white-washed buildings sparkle under the sun, and breathtaking sea views and incredible beaches are all found.
Add delicious local food and dramatic cliffs upon which the shops, local eateries, and buildings sit, and you’ve found one of the most romantic places in the world.
One of the best ways to enjoy Santorini is by catching the multi-colored sunsets in Oia. Grab a table at one of the restaurants and enjoy the local fare as the sun dips over the water.
If you’re looking for a more adventurous way to spend time together, you can take a boat ride to Nea Kamini Island. This island is nearby Santorini and features the famous Santorini Volcano. Bring a pair of hiking shoes and explore the area. It’s no wonder Santorini is considered one of the best islands in Greece for couples.
Best Time to Visit: If you’re looking for hotter, sunnier weather (so you can enjoy a dip in the sea), June through September is the best time to visit. The crowds tend to thin towards the end of summer (September and October).

Maui is one of the most beautiful places in Hawaii and is the quintessential holiday destination for couples of all ages, and levels of physical fitness. It has stunning beaches where you can laze around all day, as well as a range of unique activities including hike, surfing and snorkelling.
Maui has the cleanest beaches, most beautiful greenery, and the calmest water for swimming in versus the other islands of Hawaii.
Set up a romantic helicopter ride over the island for incredible panoramic views. You’ll also be able to view areas of the island that are more challenging to reach.
Snorkeling is a must-do activity while in Maui. One of the best spots to view marine life is Black Rock at Kaanapali Beach. Here, the calm waters make for an excellent snorkeling site.
Maui is a great couples holiday destination for those based in the United States, as you won’t need a passport to visit!
Best Time to Visit: If you’re looking to avoid the crowds on the island, aim for a visit from April through May or September through November.

#4 | The Whitsundays, Australia

Australia is often considered the place to go for bucket list-worthy travel adventures. But is it the place to go for romance? Absolutely.
We live in Australia, so we might be a little biased, but we happen to think the Whitsundays absolutely deserves a spot on this list of the best destinations for couples holidays in the world.
The Whitsundays are a cluster of 74 islands off the coast of Queensland that seem to be curated specifically for romance. Many Aussies visit these glorious islands to propose, take a romantic vacation, or even get married.
The picturesque turquoise water, secluded white sandy beaches, and unbelievable scenery that looks like a backdrop, help set these islands apart from other tropical destinations. And not to mention, it’s the ideal location to see the Great Barrier Reef.
Curate a unique stay by glamping on a pontoon in the Great Barrier Reef or spend the night in an underwater suite. Other romantic places for couples to go in the Whitsundays include stunning Hamilton Island and uber-luxe Hayman Island.
Best Time to Visit: Aim to go to The Whitsundays in September, as it offers the best weather and conditions for water activities like snorkeling.
Where to Stay: The Intercontinental Hayman Island is the ultimate tropical couples resort.

A list of the best couples getaways is not complete without listing Paris as one of the most romantic cities in the world!

From delicious food to culture, exciting attractions, and incredible views. It exudes romantic vibes from every corner, and every couple must visit together at least once in their lifetime!
Paris is chock-full of romantic things to do that make any trip worthwhile, regardless of the occasion. Some of the cities most romantic places include the Eiffel Tower, the Wall of Love in Montmartre, and the Luxembourg Gardens.
Since Paris is a haven for foodies, it’s also necessary to try as much of the local food as possible. Choose a few cute local cafes and enjoy a croissant and cup of coffee like the local Parisians.
We recommend couples spend at least two days soaking in the vibes of Paris, before heading off to one of these equally romantic places in France.
Best Time to Visit: If your objective is avoiding higher hotel costs and crowds, then February and August are the best months to schedule a trip to Paris.

Snorkelling and scuba diving are the main attraction in Bora Bora. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can snorkel with sharks. This thrill-seeking activity is a great way to make new memories and take incredible pictures.
Otherwise, you can spend your day enjoying the views and lounging on the shore of Matira Beach. Couples who want incredible views and a secluded getaway will love Bora Bora.
Best Time to Visit: Skip the rainy season by visiting in November and April. You’ll find ideal warm weather in Bora Bora during these months.
Where to Stay: We love the overwater bungalows at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora.
#8 | Fiji

Fiji is without a doubt one of the best couple island vacations that is completely underrated. Popular amongst Australian holiday-makers (due to the short flight time), yet it seems to be undiscovered by the rest of the world.

Relax at Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool, a natural spa experience unlike any other. Start by lounging in the mud pool as one of the natural spa treatments, then work your way through the three available hot springs.
Other fun water activities like snorkeling with manta rays or swimming underneath waterfalls help you stay cool on this beautiful island.
